Begorrah 'tis the Irish Daily Mail
Today marks the hugely anticipated (why?) launch of the Irish version of Britain's middle class tabloid - The Daily Mail. Famous for its support of Hitler and his Nazi chums in the run up to World War Two and for its current hatred of immigrants it is a sad reflection on Ireland that people will probably buy it by the boat load. The paper has consistantly run an anti Irish line on everything. If anyone can suggest a reason why any self respecting Irish man or woman would buy this rag perhaps they would let me know.
UPDATE: The TV ad campaign for the Oirish Mail is enough to make a billygoat puke..... The whole thing is awful beyond belief but the best part surely has to be the picture of the "Mom" and her family with a voice over saying "She loves its family values....".

The Irish Daily Mail has helped show up the corruption of the Irish political body as exemplified by the leader of the republican party Bertie Ahern, who has lied to Brian Dobson and the Mahon Tribunal about the money he failed to declare to the Revenue Commissioners both as minister for finance as as prime minister. And the failings of the governmental partners, PDs and Greens, to hold such a man to account shows how corrupt Irish politics has become. Such corruption by the ruling caste is destorying all decency and morality in Ireland.
