How's that for a bit of Freedom of Expression?

O'Connell St, originally uploaded by ShankillFalls.

A young gentlemen prepares to throw a piece of paving at the Gardaí during Saturday's "demonstration" against their fellow Irish citizens expressing their right to march.

The lunatics are, obviously, insane bigots but the Republican Sinn Féin protest that turned into a riot has made them out to be victims. The stupidity of it all is phenomonal.

Nassau St / Trinity College

Nassau St / Trinity College, originally uploaded by ShankillFalls.

Taken from the railings of Trinity after some cars had been burned by the skangers (oops, I mean politically motivated demonstrators). They were upset that they were not allowed to go up Kildare St to Leinster House where, no doubt, they would have discussed their political differences with the "Love Ulster" loons in a calm and peaceful manner

Begorrah 'tis the Irish Daily Mail

Irish Daily Mail, originally uploaded by ShankillFalls.

Today marks the hugely anticipated (why?) launch of the Irish version of Britain's middle class tabloid - The Daily Mail. Famous for its support of Hitler and his Nazi chums in the run up to World War Two and for its current hatred of immigrants it is a sad reflection on Ireland that people will probably buy it by the boat load. The paper has consistantly run an anti Irish line on everything. If anyone can suggest a reason why any self respecting Irish man or woman would buy this rag perhaps they would let me know.

UPDATE: The TV ad campaign for the Oirish Mail is enough to make a billygoat puke..... The whole thing is awful beyond belief but the best part surely has to be the picture of the "Mom" and her family with a voice over saying "She loves its family values....".
